Chef Timothy Hardy grew up in beautiful Muskoka. It was there that he started working in the kitchen at twelve. Tim enrolled in Humber College’s Culinary Management program in 2002. After two years of intensive training, Tim apprenticed at two elite downtown restaurants: ‘Acqua Ristaurante’ on Front Street, and ‘George’ on Queen East. In 2005, Tim returned to Muskoka, where he finished his apprenticeship working with Chef David Friesen at ‘Riverwalk Restaurant’.
In 2007 Tim met Executive Chef Mackenzie Taylor joining him in Bala as his sous-chef. After two successful summers at ‘The Bala Bay Inn’, during which time the restaurant gained great acclaim; Tim left to backpack across Italy. Immersing himself fully in the culture and the cuisine, Tim reinvigorated his passion for local, fresh, and seasonal food. Back with Mackenzie at ‘My Chef in Muskoka’, Tim can now bring his passion and enthusiasm for fresh, fun and local cuisine to your table.
